Women Safety Wing Starts Anti-Trafficking Training

Women Safety Wing Starts State-Level Training to Prevent Human Trafficking in Telangana

Hyderabad, Nov 23: The Women Safety Wing of the Telangana Police, in partnership with My Choices Foundation (MCF), has launched a state-wide “Training of Trainers” (TOT) program to prevent human trafficking at the community level.

The program was formally launched by Director General of Police B. Shivanandha Reddy and ADGP Charu Sinha. At the event, they also released a new Safe Village Comic Book designed to spread awareness about women and child safety.

During the launch, the DGP spoke about the increasing threats faced by women and children, including voyeurism, groping, cyber exploitation, child sexual abuse, domestic violence, unsafe migration, and other forms of trafficking.

He said that the new TOT curriculum will help improve community education, make coordination between departments easier, and strengthen grassroots safety systems involving AHTU, SHE Teams, and Bharosa Centres.

The training includes officers from Anti-Human Trafficking Units, Bharosa teams, SHE Teams, along with members of My Choices Foundation and seven other partner organisations.

Participants will be trained under the Safe Village Program (SVP) model. This model helps frontline teams work closely with vulnerable communities, understand local protection systems, and identify emerging threats related to exploitation.

The initiative highlights the joint commitment of the Women Safety Wing, AHTU teams, SHE Teams, Bharosa Centres, and My Choices Foundation to protect women and children across Telangana, the DGP office said in a statement.
